Will’s Watchlist: Theatrical Release
The Bikeriders is a crime drama based on true events about the growth of a motorcycle club in the 1960s and 1970s. The story of this group is recounted by Kathy Cross, who married one of the bikers in the 1960s, and she provides her own perspective on the events and activities that she personally experienced at the time.
This is a great film all around. Everything contributes to the story effectively and makes it both engaging and enjoyable to watch. The performances in particular are excellent, especially from Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, and Tom Hardy. Although the film can start to feel a little long towards the end, the acting allows the experience to remain captivating all the way through. The narrative style is also compelling, as all of the depicted events are described from Kathy’s viewpoint rather than one of the bikers. This also give the story a sense of authenticity because the information is presented from a reliable source within the film.
I recommend The Bikeriders to anyone interested in movies that are primarily character driven or based on true events. The characters and historical elements are this film’s greatest strengths, and they provide the central features of its grounded narrative.
The Bikeriders is now playing in theaters. Click here to watch the Official Trailer.
