The French Dispatch is Wes Anderson’s 10th and most stylistic film to date. It’s a comedy about a fictional newspaper publication that outlines its final issue with an anthology of articles. Each article explores a different aspect of news coverage, such as art, politics, and crime.

This film boasts an incredible cast, with actors including Owen Wilson, Benicio del Toro, Frances McDormand, Timothy Chalamet, Jeffery Wright, and Bill Murray as leads. The supporting roles are also filled with many notable actors as well. Not only is the acting outstanding, but the technical elements of the movie are exceptional as well. The meticulous cinematography, eccentric set design, and unique framing device perfectly translate the style of a newspaper into the medium of film. As a result, the style itself becomes an element of the film’s narrative, which enhances each individual story as they contribute to the overall structure of the movie. This approach to storytelling is so immersive and precise that it exemplifies everything that makes Anderson’s films extraordinary.

The French Dispatch is perfect for people who enjoy the unconventional and whimsical characteristics of Anderson’s work. In this film, every single shot embodies Anderson’s distinctive style, which perfectly integrates and elevates many elements found across his entire filmography.
