Jurassic World Rebirth (2025)

Directed by Gareth Edwards
[Rated PG-13] 2hr 14min
★★★

Jurassic World Rebirth is an action adventure sci-fi thriller and the 7th film in the Jurassic Park/World franchise. It follows a team of experts as they illegally try to obtain DNA samples of specific dinosaurs which now only exist in certain areas near the equator. Along the way, they encounter a family left stranded in the water and attempt to keep them safe as they continue their dangerous mission into the jungle.

This is a fun, mindless dinosaur movie that has many exciting moments among a fairly dull story. While the film doesn’t add anything new or unique to the franchise, it does provide some incredible action sequences that are highly entertaining. Each set piece is quite spectacular, and Gareth Edwards’ excellent direction greatly contributes to making those parts of the movie very enjoyable. The visual effects are also great for the most part, but they can occasionally a bit look off at times. The main plot is pretty generic, and the acting from some of the leads isn’t the best, but all the story elements and performances involving the family are easily the most compelling aspects of the narrative. As a result, the overall story is serviceable enough to link the film’s thrilling action together into a cohesive plot that’s able to sustain a fun movie experience for much of the runtime.

I recommend Jurassic World Rebirth to anyone who wants to see exciting dinosaur action on the big screen and to those who’ve enjoyed the previous Jurassic World movies. Although this stand-alone film doesn’t come close to the original Jurassic Park, it still offers a good time at the theater and is approachable to people who haven’t seen any other movies in the franchise.
